Sir,
As a concerned Mysurean, I would like to bring to the notice of the authorities the plight of people standing in front of the sub-urban bus stand.
We have inter-city buses coming one after the other and making an entry into the sub-urban bus stand. At the same time we have the city buses coming from Hardinge Circle. There is a commotion when these two meet!
There is a bus stop for city buses just after the intersection for the passengers to alight. This I feel is a disaster waiting to happen. When more than one city bus comes, they stop haphazardly. People run helter-skelter to get into these buses and it is a mad rush during peak hours.
Also it is a nightmare for the elderly competing with other commuters. The buses stopping haphazardly next to each other or behind each other escalates the confusion. We have designated stops for the city buses after they cross the sub-urban bus stand. I know it would be difficult for people to walk back to bus stand if alighted there, but it will clear a lot of crowd caused due to this confusion at the intersection and create more space.
I urge the authorities concerned to look into this pressing issue at the earliest and find an alternative.
