Mysuru-based Dhruthi T. Venugopal teaming up with Arman Kaur Thandi combined well and won their quarter-final women’s doubles tie in the 25,000$ ITF women’s tennis tournament at Uzbekistan on Thursday.
Dhruthi Venugopal and Karman Kaur Thandi beat Varvara Kuznetsova and Diana Shevehenko 6-1, 6-0 and sailed into the semi-finals in the women’s doubles event. In the women’s singles pre-quarter-finals, third-seed Nigina Abduraimova beat Dhruthi Venugopal 6-3, 6-3 and entered the quarter-finals.
