Mysore/Mysuru: The faction led by outgoing President C. Narayanagowda, who is also Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President, gained upper hand in the polls held on Sunday for electing new office-bearers (2022-23) to the city’s prestigious The Cosmopolitan Club, located behind MUDA Office on JLB Road.
After the Club’s Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) was held on Sunday morning, the polls followed at 1 pm, which went on till 6 pm, during which 656 members of the club cast their votes. The counting of votes was taken up thereafter, when V. Girish Gowda (sitting second from left) was declared elected as the President. Girish Gowda, who belonged to C. Narayanagowda camp, bagged 364 votes while his opponent N. Srinivas got 292 votes. H.N. Jayapal (379 votes) was declared elected as the Vice-President defeating his nearest rival K.B. Nagendra (277 votes). V.T. Shetty (395 votes) was elected as the Hon. Secretary, defeating his rival L. Krishna (261 votes). G. Sanjay (335 votes) was elected as Treasurer, defeating his rivals B.P. Veeresh (224 votes) and G. Rishab Dev (97 votes).
In other results, C. Mohan Kumar (575 votes), Uma Anil (554 votes), H.R. Lakshman Swaroop Raj Urs (546 votes), U.M. Gurushanthappa (523 votes), R. Yashwanth Kumar (514 votes), M.V. Pramod (509 votes) and H.S. Venkatesh (485 votes) were elected as Executive Members.
