V. Ponnuraj appointed as CM’s Secretary

Mysore/Mysuru: Days after B.S. Yediyurappa (BSY) quit as Chief Minister and Basavaraj Bommai replaced him, the Government has reshuffled the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). 

Senior IAS Officer V. Ponnuraj, who was serving as Managing Director of KPCL (Karnataka Power Corporation Limited) has been appointed as the Secretary to the Chief Minister in place of  Dr. S. Selvakumar, who has been transferred and posted as Secretary of Skill Development Department. The CMO has also relieved 19 other officers who held key positions.

Retired IAS Officer M. Lakshminarayana, who was the CM’s Adviser in the previous Government headed by BSY, has been relieved. Also, Special officer on Duty Dr. A. Lokesh, Special Officers H.S. Satish and T.M. Suresh, Deputy Secretary A.R. Ravi and several other officials have been asked to report back to their original  posts. Besides, BSY’s Media Co-ordinators S. Shantaram and G.S. Sunil, Cultural Co-ordination officer Ganesh Yaji too have been dropped from their posts. However, the  services of Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary when BSY was the CM, has been continued.
