Special lecture on ‘Janapada Chaluvali’ held
Mysuru: “After the arrival of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, People’s Movement took a dramatic turn and he emerged as a Cultural leader,” said Dr. Mogali Ganesh, Professor, Hampi Kannada University.
He was speaking on ‘Janapada Chaluvali’ at a special lecture organised by Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) at its premises in Manasagangothri here on Wednesday.
Dr. Ganesh pointed out that centuries ago, the oppressed class fought with silence which was the basis of Indian social system then. He added that as time passed by, the Vachanas created a revolution in society with the emergence of several social leaders and literary giants.
KIKS Director Dr. Priti Srimandhar Kumar presided. Janapada Adhyayana Mandali President Dr. M. Nanjaiah Hoganur and others were present.
