Mysore/Mysuru: Kalidasa is considered as the greatest poet of all the times around the world. In honour of Kalidasa, Pramati Hillview Academy is organising Kalidasotsava every year on the first day of Ashada month.
The valedictory of Kalidasotsava is organised on Aug. 12 with an inter-school recitation competition. Students are expected to chant some verses useful for life, as found in the poems and plays composed by the legendary poet Kalidasa.
The competition will be conducted in three different categories and schools from across Mysuru may send students to participate in the same. Only two students from an institute are allowed to participate in each category.
Class VIII students should memorise and recite the 8 verses (Contact for details); Class IX students should memorise the 10 verses (Contact for details) and tell the meaning of any verse; Class X students should memorise the 10 verses (Contact for details) and tell the meaning of any one verses. Time limit will be five minutes per student.
