Mysuru: The 15th Dasara Flower Show, organized by the Horticultural Division of University of Mysore (UoM) at the East bund of Kukkarahalli Lake here, was inaugurated by in-Charge Vice-Chancellor Dr. Aisha M. Shariff yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Aisha said that various types of flowers have been arranged in a systematic way at the Show with a formation of a peak with flowers being the star attraction. She added that the pots have been arranged without inconveniencing the movement of visitors.
Register Prof. R. Rajanna added that entry to the Flower Show was free so that a good number of people can enjoy the ambience. The Flower Show exhibits about 50 varieties of flowering plants and 15 varieties of vegetable plants. A huge peak formation utilizing 1,000 pots with flowering plants arranged symmetrically is cynosure of all eyes at the Show. Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. J. Somashekar, Finance Officer M. Mahadevappa, Horticulture Division Assistant Director S.K. Muzavar and others were present.
The Flower Show concludes on Oct.19 and will be open daily from 9 am to 7 pm.
