“Our country’s wealth is hidden in the knowledge we acquire,” said former Mangalore and Goa Universities Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sheikh Ali here recently.
He was speaking after releasing the book ‘Gadigalu Godegale,’ a collection of articles written by Prof. Vasu Malali, at a function organised by Malali’s family and Karnataka Vichara Vedike at Institution of Engineers (IEI).
“Education helps one acquire knowledge and knowledgeable people enhance country’s wealth. Prof. Vasu was not only a good teacher but was also involved in many social activities during her student days. She used to always think about bringing out the hidden talent among the students,” he added.
On the occasion, Prof. Vasu Malali Award was conferred on Maya Institute Member Murali in recognition of his service to street children in providing food and education.
