Mysore/Mysuru: Vasudeva Maharaj Award given by city-based Brahmeedootha Sri Vasudeva Maharaj Foundation was conferred on four achievers from different fields at a programme held at Patrakarthara Bhavan here recently, marking the 13th Aradhana Mahotsava of Vasudeva Maharaj.
Speaking as the guest of honour, social worker Dr. K. Raghuram said S.N. Vasudevarao (Vasudeva Maharaj), who was born in 1938 and worked as a Financial Officer at Mysore Palace, was a devout devotee of Sai Baba. Though Vasudevarao was a family man, he led a spiritual life till the end and taught Astrology for free to members of the public. Spiritual scholar Somashekar Swamiji, who graced the occasion, said it is not easy to become a recipient of any award. Maintaining that one can get awards and rewards only by hard work and dedication to service, he wished the recipients success in life.
Dr. A.R. Renukaprasad (Medicine), Dr. S. Venkatesh (Social Service) and M. Shivaprakash (Industrialist) were conferred the award on the occasion while the fourth recipient S.V. Venkateshaiah (Yoga) was absent. Medical practitioner Dr. C. Sharath Kumar, former District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Congress leader N.M. Naveen Kumar, Foundation President and Vasudeva Maharaj’s son M.V. Nagendra Babu and others were present.
