Mysuru: Kannada Chaluvali leader Vatal Nagaraj has given a call for State Bandh on June 12 to protest against the privatisation of public sector units, including BEML, and the Government’s delay in declaring a loan waiver to farmers.
He went around the city mobilising support for the Bandh and said that over the years the Government had closed down Kolar Gold Field (KGF), HMT, allowed the merger of State Bank of Mysore (SBM) with SBI erasing its existence, and there are now plans to privatise BEML.
“We will not allow the closure or privatisation of any unit in the State and hence have called for a State Bandh,” he said.
