Mysuru: The Karnataka Rajya Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike has urged the State Government coalition partners, JD(S) and Congress, to seal seat sharing pact at the earliest in order to defeat the BJP, which it terms as a communal party.
Addressing a press meet at a private hotel here this morning, Vedike President K.S. Shivaramu said that the two parties, apart from sharing the seats, should also give appropriate representation to candidates from backward committees.
Pointing out that the two parties have been ignoring the backward community candidates is Mysuru region, Shivaramu urged the JD(S) to leave Mysuru-Kodagu LS seat to the Congress and said that the Congress in turn should field a candidate from Backward Community and thus uphold social justice. Reminding JD(S) that Backward Communities have played a key role in the win of party candidates from Mandya, Hassan etc., he maintained that JD(S) should be large-hearted in the seat sharing pact.
He further said, a post-card campaign will be launched near Head Post office on Ashoka Road at 11 am on Mar.11 to urge AICC President Rahul Gandhi and JD(S) Supremo H.D. Devegowda to ink the deal, while also ensuring social justice and equality.
