Mysuru: Vidu. Vasundhara Kikkeri, now settled in Dallas, US, will be presenting a Veena concert on Sunday (Nov. 24) at the residence of Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya in city. She will be supported by Vid. Rupanagudi Ratna Teja on violin, Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching. The concert, scheduled to start at 10.30 am, is open to all music-lovers.
Vidu. Vasundhara, born to a family of music connoisseurs from Bengaluru, started her Karnatak vocal training under Dr. R.A. Ramamani. She then started her Veena training as a disciple of Dr. Suma Sudhindra. She has also learnt under Dr. Chittibabu and Chitravina N Ravikiran.
She has performed widely in the US and in India; participated in fusion music festival in Cincinnati and October Fest in Bloomington and performed with Jazz Players such as Rick Van Matre and drum player Glen Velez.
Vid. Ratna Teja, who earlier learnt under Ashok Gurujale and Peri Sree Rammurthy, is currently under the tutelage of Dr. Mysore Manjunath. He has accompanied senior artistes on various occasions.
Vid. Ramanujam and Vid. Ramesh, are senior percussionists in the city, with over four decades of stage experience.
