As part of M.J. Srinivasa Iyengar Memorial Music programme, Vidu. Pushpa Kashinath will present a veena recital under the aegis of Ganabharathi at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar here on Feb. 20 at 6 pm.
She will be accompanied by Vid. B.R. Sridhar on mridanga and Vid. A.V. Kashinath on khanjira.
Artiste’s profile: Vidu. Pushpa Kashinath hails from a family of musicians — father B. Vishwanath, a violinist, mother Saraswathi, a veena artiste and husband Vid. A.V. Kashinath, a mridanga and khanjira artiste.
‘A’ Graded artiste of Akashavani and Doordarshan, Vidu. Pushpa had her initial training under her mother and later under Vidu. T. Sharada, Vid. Anoor S. Ramakrishna and Vidu. M.S. Sheela. Having performed across India and abroad, she has several awards to her credit.
