Mysore/Mysuru: As part of the centenary celebrations of Vainika Vidwan Ganaklabhushana M.J. Sreenivasa Iyengar (MJS), Vidushi Yogavandana will present a veena recital on June 10 (Saturday) at 6 pm at Ganabharathi’s Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar.
She will be accompanied by Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.
Profile: Vidu. Yogavandana is one of the most acclaimed veena players of India. She is known for her melodious and mellifluous rendering.
An “A top” graded artiste of AIR and Doordarshan, she has performed in all the prestigious venues of India and abroad. She has been honoured with awards like Shyama Shastri Sangeetha Ratna, Srimathi Rukmini Jagnnath Puraskar to name a few.
