Bengaluru: Swaramurthy V.N. Rao Memorial Trust, Bengaluru, has organised ‘Veeneya Bedagu-2017,’ a 4-day Music Festival in memory of Veene Seshanna at Gayana Samaja premises in Bengaluru from Oct. 12 to 15. The event will be inaugurated tomorrow at 6 pm during which Veene Seshanna Memorial National Award will be presented to Sangeetha Kalanidhi T.V. Gopalakrishnan and Swaramurthy V.N. Rao Memorial National Award to Sangeetha Kalarathna S. Shankar. At 5 pm, Revathi Sadashivam will present a veena concert.
On Oct. 13, Y.G. Srilatha will present a veena concert at 5 pm and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sudha Raghunathan will present a vocal concert at 6.15 pm.
On Oct. 14, birth centenary of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. S. Ramanathan will be inaugurated at 10 am which will be followed by a vocal concert by Ganakala Shri Pattabhiram Pandit; At 6 pm, Kalaimamani P. Unnikrishnan will present a vocal concert.
On Oct. 15, ‘Tyagaraja Namana’ will be inaugurated at 11.30 am. Sangeetha Kalarathna M.S. Sheela will present a vocal recital at 10.30 am; Veena recital by Ganakala Shri D. Balakrishna at 12 noon; Vocal recital by Dr. Radha Bhaskar at 1 pm; Veena recital by Dr. R.S. Jayalakshmi at 3 pm; Vocal recital by Sangeetha Kala Acharya R.N. Tyagarajan and R.N. Tharanathan at 4 pm; Veena recital by Ganakala Bhushana Dr. Suma Sudhindra at 5.30 pm; Valedictory at 6.30 pm; Flute recital by Chandan Kumar at 7 pm.
