Veerappan associate serving life term dies at Hospital

Bengaluru: Meesekar Madaiah (70), an associate of forest brigand Veerappan, who was serving life term for his role in the 1993 Palar bomb blast that killed 22 Police personnel, died of health issues at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Madaiah, who was serving life sentence at Mysore Central Prison since 34 years, was shifted to NIMHANS in Bengaluru following illness and later to Victoria Hospital where he died.

Sources said that Meesekar Madaiah suffered a brain stroke recently and was shifted to Victoria Hospital, where he breathed his last around 1.30 pm on Sunday.

Sources in NIMHANS said that Madaiah had a stroke and was brought to NIMHANS casualty on Apr. 10 and on Apr. 11, he was referred to Victoria Hospital jail ward, where he died  on Sunday.

Post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members,                              sources added.
