Veteran politician G. Madegowda hospitalised in B’luru, to be shifted to Mandya today

Mandya: Veteran politician of Mandya and former Minister G. Madegowda has been admitted to a Hospital in Bengaluru following age-related illness.

The 94-year-old politician, who was suffering from lung ailments, was admitted to the Hospital  15 days ago.

Madegowda, who served as Forest Minister in R. Gundurao-led Congress Government in the 1980s, was elected thrice from the then Kirugavalu Assembly segment in Mandya district. He was also elected as Lok Sabha MP from Mandya twice in 1989 and 1991.  A veteran politician from Mandya district, Madegowda was in the forefront of Cauvery agitation and was part of many a farmers struggle.

Madegowda will be shifted to G. Madegowda Multi-speciality Hospital at Bharathinagar in Maddur taluk today, according to his son Madhu Madegowda, who is a former MLC.

Former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader S.M. Krishna visited the Hospital at Bengaluru where Madegowda is being treated and enquired about his health condition.
