Viable policy needed to maintain Old Conservancy Lanes

Sir,

Our Old Extensions like Vontikoppal (VV Mohalla) have well-planned and designed Conservancy Lanes system all across the Cross Roads and Main Roads since the days of establishing them from around 1920s. They were managed well all along since then but now they need special attention.

These conservancies have become unclean and unhealthy spots in different places as garbage dumping zones, storing of unwanted household materials, unauthorised temporary and permanent structures.

They are also used as extended home utilities too, like embedded UGD, overhead electric wiring, telecom cables, private and public encroachments, wild growth of all kinds of shrubs, creepers, trees and many more.

On behalf of the residents, I request the authorities concerned to evolve a functionally viable citizen-friendly policy for an ongoing maintenance and  upkeeping of Mysuru City, once known as the “Cleanest and Healthy City” free from causing and spreading epidemics and diseases in future too.

It may be noted that coordinated attention by Mysuru City Corporation, MUDA, PWD, CESC, Telecom and other Public/ Private Organisations is of paramount importance.
