Mysuru: RAAGA Music Academy will present a grand Karnatak Vocal Concert by the young, talented Vid. Sudarshan Iyengar, on Sept. 21 at Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sree Prasanna Seetharama Mandira on Narayana Shastry Road at 6 pm.
He will be accompanied by Vid. Rupanagudi Ratna Teja on violin, Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga and Vid. T.N. Ajay on ghata.

Artiste’s profile
Vid. Sudarshan Iyengar, a 21-year-old vocalist, has been learning the art of Karnatak Classical Music for the past 15 years. He began his musical journey under the guidance of Ganapraveen Ramu R. Chandran and Suma Narayan in Dubai and has been under the tutelage of Vid. Jayakrishnan Unni and Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee Vid. Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan for the past 8 years.
He has performed several concerts both in India and abroad, including the Birmingham Thyagaraja Festival, Consulate General of India – Netherlands and Dubai, Sri Krishnadhama – Mysuru, Indian Fine Arts, Mohana Dubai, Sound of Carnatic – Netherlands, Mysore Vasudevacharya’s residence in Mysuru among others.
He has also presented Baithaks covering topics such as ‘Layānubhava’ and ‘Raga Explorations’ under the banner of SPIC MACAY, Europe. As a testimony to his prowess in music, he is a recipient of the prestigious ‘Sangeet Samrat’ award.
