Mysore/Mysuru: Senior artiste from Andhra Pradesh Vidu. Emani Lalitha Krishna is presenting a Veena Concert at the house of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Mysore Vasudevacharya in Mysuru on Nov. 2 between 10.30 am and 1 pm.
She will be accompanied by Vid. H.L. Shivashankaraswamy on mridanga and Vid.Raghunandan Rao on ghata.
Vidu. Lalitha Krishna is a distinguished artiste graded ‘A’ in both Veena and Chitraveena categories of the AIR. She has been featured by AIR in its National programme on Veena and in the Sangeetha Sammelana Concert on Chitraveena.
Trained initially by her grandfather Meduri Narasimha Rao and mother Vid. Lakshmi Somayajulu, she had her higher lessons from famed artistes Vid. Annavarapu Ramaswamy and Vid. N. Ravikiran.
Vidu. Lalitha has performed all over the country and at many places overseas. She has the distinction of giving duet concerts with Vid. Ravikiran (Chitraveena) and Dr. Prapancham Seetharam (flute) and having accompanied Vid. Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna’s vocal on Veena. Vid. Lalitha has released many albums on both Veena and Chitraveena, including one on the Thillanas of Dr. Balamuralikrishna.
Vid. H.L. Shivashankara-swamy, a staff artiste of AIR and his student Vid. Raghunandan Rao are both senior artistes of the city, having accompanied top-notch performers. For details, contact Mob: 98802-55920.
