Vidu. Shankari Murthy Balila to perform at Ganabharathi

Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised a music concert by Vidushi Shankari Murthy Balila on Oct. 25 at 6 pm. She will be accompanied on violin by Vidwan Achyutha Rao, Vidwan Sunil Subramanya on the mridanga and vidwan V S Ramesh on the morching. This programme is organised in memory of M. Narayana Dongre.

Vidushi Shankari Murthy Balila hails from a family of musicians. She started her training under her father and guru, vidwanK J. Krishna Bhat. Later, she was guided by vidushi Sukanya Prabhakar. She is a ‘B High’ graded artiste of All India Radio. 

She holds a post-graduate degree in music from Madras University. She has secured first rank in Karnatak vidwat examination. She has bagged prizes and honours from reputed Sangeetha Sabhas and institutions promoting music. She has performed in various prestigious venues both within and outside Karnataka. Her devotion to music and rigorous, prolonged and consistent training has made her an eminent musician.

Vidwan Achuta Rao is a disciple of Vidwan B Raghuram. He has accompanied many leading musicians. He is well known as a very good accompanist. 

Vidwan Sunil Subramanyam started learning under Vidwan Arjun kumar. Now he is learning under Umayalpuramsivaraman and Trichi Shankaran. 

Vidwan V S Ramesh is a senior disciple of Vidwan P.G. Laxminarayana. He is one of the leading morching players.
