‘Vidyavaridhi’ award conferred on teachers

Toppers in Kannada honoured; book ‘Bhavadinchara’ released

Mysuru: An anthology of poems ‘Bhavadinchara,’ written by N. Mohammad Humayun, was released at a function organised by Mysuru Sahitya Mattu Samskrutika Pratishtana and Mysuru’s Kabir Prakashana at Ideal Jawa Rotary School  auditorium on JLB Road in the city on Sunday.

B.S. Aparanji, Managing Consultant of NSSK, Bidar, who released the book, said that writing poetry or prose is not an easy job. It is possible to only those who consider writing as a penance.

Poet Humayun has written more than 70 quality poems in ‘Bhavadinchara,’ she added.

As part of Teachers’ Day celebrations, five teachers — B. Ravish Kumar, Ramachandra Bhat, Ushamani, C.S. Raghavendra and Jaibunneesa — were presented  ‘Vidyavaridhi’ awards. Students, who had scored highest marks in Kannada language in SSLC Exams, were also feted.

Poetess B. Shobha, Pratishtana President M.B. Santhosh, office-bearers C. Vani Raghavendra, N.C. Mamata, A. Hemaganga, Dr. Sougandhika V. Jois, S.V. Pannaga, N.R. Roopashri, Dr. K. Premakumara, Neetu S. Raj and Rekha Santosh were present.
