As part of a cultural exchange programme, a 10-member youth delegation from Vietnam who are on a tour of India, arrived in city this morning on a two-day visit.
The delegation was accorded a warm welcome by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep at the Youth Hostel in Gangothri Layout here. The delegation comprising five men and five women were offered jasmine garlands and Mysuru Peta. Heading the delegation is Pham Thi Phuong Chi, Vice-President, Vietnam Youth Federation.
She expressed happiness in exchanging thoughts with their counter parts in India on cultural aspects and also appreciated the tradition and culture of India.
Randeep asked the delegation members to interact on various aspects of administration and added that India and Vietnam had cordial relationship for ages.
The Vietnam delegation is accompanied by I.B — Lenka, Under Secretary, Ministry of Youths Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
M.N. Nataraj, District Convenor, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Dr. M. Rudraiah, Director, Student Welfare, University of Mysore, B. Chandrashekar, NSS Co-ordinator, Srihari, Founder, GSS Foundation and others were present.
