Mysore/Mysuru: S. Chinnaswamy of Gopalpura, Jayapura hobli in Mysuru taluk, has secured first place in Yogasana Contest at the Mysuru District-level Rural Sports Meet 2022-23 organised by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Mysuru and Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Mysuru, at Chamundi Vihar Stadium on Jan. 12 and has now been selected for the State-level Yoga Competition to be held on Jan. 16 at Chikkamagalur.
Son of Sanjeeve Gowda and Shivamma of Gopalpura, Chinnaswamy is pursuing his 1st year BA from KSOU.
About his training, Chinna-swamy said: “I learnt yogasana when I was in school at Vinayaka Gnana Vidya Shale, Mullur, Jayapura hobli, from my PT teachers Linganand and Chandru. After completing my SSLC in 2017, I did not get any teachers as I was in a village. Since I could not go to city and learn, I started learning by watching YouTube channels.”
On how he got selected for the State-level, Chinnaswamy said that it was from Rural Sports Meet organised by Gopalapura Gram Panchayat that he was able to get into the competition.
