Mysore/Mysuru: As part of its fund-raising effort, Kannada Vikasa Shaikshanika Samajika Samskrutika Samsthe, which runs Nrupatunga Kannada School and College in city, had organised ‘Nadasaurabha,’ a Jugalbandi by violin maestro Dr. Mysore Manjunath and flautist Pt. Pravin Godkhindi at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar on Sunday.

Earlier, addressing the gathering as the chief guest on the occasion, Hindustani vocalist Pt. Indudhar Nirody lauded Kannada Vikasa Samsthe for espousing the cause of Kannada. “All of you have purchased the tickets for this programme, thereby helping the poor students for their education. It would certainly help this Kannada medium school to grow and provide better education for students. I myself had forgotten Kannada after moving to Mumbai, but later, after coming to Mysuru, I started to learn it again. Mysuru is my karmabhumi. I will remember this town forever,” he said.

Kannada Vikasa Samsthe President P. Mallesh, who too spoke, said: “Music has the ability to soothe our minds and significantly increase self-confidence and self-esteem. In Nrupatunga College, we are teaching science subjects to PU students in Kannada. We need encouragement and support from people to continue this noble endeavour.”
