Virtual literature festival garners good response

Mysore/Mysuru: The Fourth Edition of the Mysuru Literature Festival got good response despite being hosted on a virtual platform due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival was hosted both on Zoom and You Tube channels. Mysuru Literary Forum and Charitable Trust Chairperson Shubha Sanjay Urs said that the total number of views on all the days on YouTube was 15,529 and on Zoom 5,000 were in attendance. There are a total of 1,260 subscribers and the number of registration on the website was 7,230.

Senior citizens, along with students and family members, took to digital platform and actively participated as could be seen from the questions they posed after each session, she said.

The success behind the show was two youngsters who managed the entire show —Aryaman M. Urs, co-founder of Team Unbound, a 12th standard student of SSVM World School, Coimbatore and Iciri V. Urs, a second year B.Sc student of Mount Carmel College.

The tech team handled e-mails to audience for every panel, SMS reminders to attendees, PPT slides and event videos, ghost moderators (curating the questions) and handling Facebook and Instagram pages. The Festival, spread over four weekends, began on Aug. 14 and in all there were 10 sessions that ended on Sept. 5.
