Mysore/Mysuru: JSS Ayurveda Medical College celebrated Graduation Day at the college campus in Lalitadripura yesterday.
A total of 102 students, including 80 graduate and 22 post-graduate students received graduation certificates in their respective stream of studies. In all, 9 graduate and 14 postgraduate rank holders received endowment medals.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, AYUSH Department Commissioner Meenakshi Negi said, “India has a rich history of traditional system of medicine out of which Ayurveda stands out to be the most ancient system of medicine. Ayurveda is already winning hearts across the globe in the most amazing ways. We have to learn a lot from China, which is promoting and modernising its traditional Chinese medicine industry in the hope of cornering the fast growing world market for natural medicines. A Chinese woman also received the 2015 Nobel Prize in Medicine for developing a drug based on ancient Chinese medicine.”
Meenakshi Negi urged the newly graduated doctors to continue this great tradition and strive towards better health.
Karnataka State Open University Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Vidyashankar, JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Medical Education Division Director R. Mahesh, JSS Ayurveda College former Principal Chennabasappa, Dr. K. Lakshmish, Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Siddaiah and others were present.
Dr. R. Arpita was awarded the ‘Best Outgoing Student- PG and topper in RGUHS Examination 2019; Dr. H.S. Harshitha: Best Outgoing Student- UG and Dr. M.N. Niveditha: UG Topper in RGUHS Examination 2019.
