Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka State Gym and Fitness Association President A.V. Ravi has appealed people to visit the Gymnasiums and Fitness Centres without fear and support this industry.
Talking to reporters at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here recently, he regretted that people were not coming to the gyms despite permission from the State Government to re-open with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). To contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Government was doing everything and even the Gym and Fitness Association was supporting it. Development of immunity in body helps to fight the virus. Both mental and physical health could be developed by practicing in Fitness Centres, he added.
Ravi said all Gyms were in great loss due to pandemic and were finding it difficult to pay rent, electricity bill and bank loans. The District Administration must help by announcing rebate in power bills as well as in bank loans and interest. The property owners can help by reducing the monthly rent by 50 percent. Once the situation improves, the owners of Gyms and Fitness Centres will voluntarily give full rent, he said.
Association District President M.S. Harsha also spoke. Association District office-bearers Sayyed Salman, Ashadevi, Akashdeep and Suresh were present.
