Visually challenged students envision birds thru their chirp

Mysuru:  N.R. Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the N.R. Group, had organised an  early morning visit to Karanji Lake recently for about 35 students of Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled.

The students were taken on a nature walk to a delightful experience of envisioning birds through their distinctive sounds.

Sahana, a volunteer of Mysore Bird Watchers Group, taught the students the skill of recognising birds through their sounds.

The students recognised nearly 20 birds, including Grey Hornbill, White Cheeked Barbet, Asian Koel, Common Myna and Indian peacock during their visit to the lake, said Sahana.

SSLC student, Gayathri said, “It was a memorable learning experience for me and my other classmates, which we will cherish forever.”
