Vocal concert at Ganabharathi

Mysuru: Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised a Grand Karnatak Vocal Concert by Vid. Sikkil C. Gurucharan at Veene Seshanna Bhavana on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar here tomorrow  (June 20) at 6 pm.

He will be accompanied by Vidu. Adithi Krishnaprakash on violin, Vid. Tumkur B. Ravishankar on mridanga and Vid. Sunaad Anoor on kanjira.

The programme is sponsored by the family members in memory of Sugunamma Dayalu and G. Mahalakshamma. Profile: Vid. Sikkil Gurucharan: Born on June 21, 1982, he is the grandson of Sikkil Kunjumani, one of the Sikkil Sisters.

He received training from Vaigal S. Gnanaskandan and is currently mentored by B. Krishnamurthy.

Gurucharan has performed extensively in India and abroad, including prestigious venues and festivals. He has performed at venues like the Music Academy (Chennai), Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha (Mumbai) and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (Singapore).

He is an ‘A’ grade artiste with All India Radio (AIR) and has been recognised as a Youth Ambassador for Karnatak Music. He was also featured in India Today’s “35 Game Changers Under 35.”
