Vocal concert at Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house

Mysore/Mysuru: Vidu. Kommajosyula Alekha, a promising young vocalist from Vijayawada, will be presenting a concert at Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house, Sayyaji Rao Road, Agrahara, in city on Sunday (Mar. 12). She will be accompanied by Vidu. Divyashree on violin and Vid. Kommajosyula Sadgurucharan on mridanga. The concert, scheduled to start at 10.30 am, is open to the public.

Alekha hails from a family of musicians in Vijayawada. Daughter of Vid. K. Sadgurucharan, a mridangist, and Radha, a Veena artiste, Alekha learnt vocal and violin under the illustrious Guru late Sri Ivaturi Vijayeswara Rao. She pursued violin under Padma Shri Sri Annavarapu Ramaswamy and is currently getting trained under the famed artiste Manda Sudharani.

 A Graduate in Mechanical Engg., Alekha now works as a Graduate Engineer Trainee at Schneider Electric R&D, Bengaluru.

Vid. Sadgurucharan is an A-Top mridanga artiste working with AIR-Vijayawada as Grade-1 staff artiste since 28 years. With over 35 years of concert experience, he has accompanied many top ranking performers in India and abroad. He is proficient in the demonstration of ‘Panchamukhi and Shanmukhi Taala Avadhanas’, rare and complex feats in the field of rhythm.

Violinist Vidu. Divyashree is a disciple of Vid. Mysore Manjunath and has quite a formidable concert experience.
