Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised a Vocal Concert by Vidu. Dharini Veera Raghavan from Mumbai at its premises on JLB Road in city on July 28 at 6 pm for Smt. Kamalamma & Sri Gopalakrishna Chetty Memorial Concert sponsored by A. Shankar Chetty & Sons, Jewellers, Mysuru.
Dharini will be accompanied by Vidu. C.V. Shruti on violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. Harishchandra on kanjira.
Profile: Dharini started learning music at the age of 4 from Bharatiya Fine Arts & went on to complete her 7 year certificate course in Karnatak Vocal and Violin from Sri Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mumbai. Since 2006, she has been under the tutelage of Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee & Sangita Kala Acharya Guru Radha Namboodiri and is now undergoing advanced training from her Guru.
She has also started learning Konnakol under Guru T.S. Nandakumar which is helping in enhancing the laya aspect.
Dharini has completed M.Com, JAIIB, D.El.Ed & worked in the Banking sector for two years.
A Grade artiste of AIR and Doordarshan, she is a recipient of Shanmukhananda Bharat Ratna Dr. M.S. Subbulakshmi Fellowship in music (2014) and Sangeetha Shiromani Award by Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha (2023).
She regularly performs in Sabhas during the Music Season and also at major venues all over India and has won awards and prizes including first prize in AIR and is a finalist in Jaya TV Junior Karnatak Classical Idol (2012).
