Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, will be presenting a Karnatak classical vocal concert by Vid. S.R. Vinay on July 2 (Sunday) at 6 pm at Sri Lakshminarasimha Temple, SBM Colony, Srirampura.
Vinay was initiated into music by Vidushis Seethalakshmi and Lalitha Chandramouli. He then came under the guidance of eminent guru, Vid. Malladi Suribabu and is continuing his higher learning by the renowned scholar.
Vinay is the recipient of the prestigious Nada Kishora award from Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru, Ananya Prathibha Puraskara and Ananya Yuva Puraskara from Ananya Cultural Academy, Bengaluru, Nadajyothi Puraskara from Nadajyoti Sangeetha Sabha, Bengaluru and has performed in many prestigious Sabhas.
He was a prominent participant in the Edetumbi Haaduvenu (2004-2005) and the MSIL Nithyothsava (2000-2001) TV reality shows and has scored music for the famous drama ‘Sandhyaraga’ penned by Aa.Na.Krishna Rao.
Vinay will be accompanied on violin by Vidu. C.V. Shruthi, disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and presently being trained by Akkarai Sisters, on mridanga by Vid. Sai Shivu Lakshmikeshav, disciple of Vid. Nagabhushanachar and Vid. Karaikudi Mani and on the ghata by Vid. Tumkur Shashishankar.
