Mysore/Mysuru: Vid. Rajagopala Bhagavath and Vid. Vishwambhara Bhagavath, father-son duo from Davanagere, will be presenting vocal recitals at the residence of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city on July 20.
They will be accompanied by Vid. Rupanagudi Ratna Teja on violin, Vid. P.S. Sridhar on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching. The programme, scheduled to start at 10.30 am, is open to all music enthusiasts.
Profiles: Vid. Rajagopala had his primary training in Karnatak vocal under Vid. H. Venkataramu of Chitradurga and advanced training under Vid. Shringeri Nagaraj. He has also learnt Hindustani vocal under Pundit Shivakumar Swamy and under Venkanna Bhatt Joshi of Davanagere.
Vid. Rajagopala has performed widely all over the State. He has over 25 years of experience in teaching music and has handled the task of organising cultural programmes.
Vid. Vishwambhara had his primary training in Karnatak vocal under his father Vid. Rajagopala and advanced training under Vid. Bellary M. Raghavendra. He is trained in Bharatanatyam also. A promising youngster, he has performed along with his father and individually at many places.
Vid. Ratna Teja has learnt violin from Ashok Gurujale and Peri Sree Rammurthy and currently he is under the tutelage of Dr. Mysore Manjunath. He has an M.A. (Music) from the University of Mysore and has accompanied senior artistes on various occasions.
Vid. Sridhar and Vid. Ramesh are both well-known senior artistes having accompanied many leading performers.
