Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised two vocal concerts as part of its August monthly music concert on Aug.3 at 6 pm at its Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar.
The first would be a Karnatak vocal concert by Vidu. Madhuri Koushik from 6 pm to 7.30 pm. She will be accompanied by Vidu. Shruthi on violin and Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj on mridanga.
This will be followed by a Hindustani vocal concert by Pt. Aditya Udupa accompanied by Pt. Ajith Subrahmaniyan on harmonium and Pt. Roopak Vaidya on tabla.
Profile: Madhuri Koushik began her initial music lessons from Vidu. Rohini Manjunath and trained under her for more than 13 years. She has also learnt from Ganakalashree Dr.Sukanya Prabhakar for more than 7 years. Currently, she is being trained by gurus Vidu. Ranjani and Vidu.Gayatri, Chennai.
Having done Electronics and Communications Engineering in BNMIT College, Bangalore, she completed Music Vidwat exam conducted by the Karnataka government securing a distinction.
Aditya Udupa got his initial training under his grandmother Rukmini Udupa and basic Hindustani classical vocal from Shankar, Hassan. He is presently undergoing vocal training from Suramani Dattatreya L. Velankar since 2005.
He completed Engineering in Electronics and Communication from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore.
A ‘B’ Grade artiste of All India Radio, Aditya Udupa is a recipient of the scholarship given by Karnataka government and Sur Sagar, Bengaluru.
