Voting awareness jatha on city streets

Mysore/Mysuru: The District Administration, District SVEEP Committee, Mysuru City Corporation and various other organisations,  in a bid to create awareness on the importance of voting, had organised an awareness jatha in city on Apr. 7.

The jatha, accompanied by various cultural and folk troupes, was taken out on the thoroughfares of T.K. Layout, Janata Nagar and Sharadadevi Nagar in city during which awareness on compulsory voting and importance of voting was created.

The public were told to exercise their franchise compulsorily which was their rights and not to refrain from it. The voters were informed that their votes were valuable for building a strong nation.

MCC Zone 3 Assistant Commissioner T.S. Sathyamurthy, Nodal Officer Rekha J. Shetty, Revenue Officer Ismail, Environmental Engineer and staff, office-bearers of various organisations, pourakarmikas and others numbering over 400 took part in the awareness jatha.
