Mysuru: Belagavi based Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Vidyashankar will be felicitated at a programme organised under the joint aegis of Lions International Multiple District 317, Negilayogi Samaja Seva Trust and Dr. S. Vidyashankar Abhimaanigala Balaga at 3.30 pm on Dec. 15 at Senate Bhavan in Manasagangothri campus.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Thursday, Abhimaanigala Balaga President Dr. N. Krishnegowda said that MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, MLA Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan and MLC A.H. Vishwanath will be the Guests of Honour. Adichunchanagiri Mutt Seer Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji will grace the occasion, while former District Lions Governor K. Devegowda will preside.
Pointing out that Dr. Vidyashankar, who also served as the KSOU VC earlier, is a native of Mandya district. Dr. Krishnegowda said that the VTU VC will be feted in recognition of his contribution to the field of technical education over the past three-decades.
He further said that nine engineering students will be distributed laptops on the occasion.
