Bengaluru: In some relief to guest lecturers serving in PU Colleges, the State Government has hiked their wages by Rs.3,000 a month.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh said that 3,708 guest lecturers will be appointed this year in order to overcome shortfall of teaching faculty in Government PU Colleges.
Pointing out that the Guest lecturers were being paid Rs.9,000 till now, he said that with the Rs.3,000 hike, they will now get Rs.12,000 a month.
It may be mentioned here that the Karnataka PU Guest Lecturers Association had demanded a wage of Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000.
