Water supply crisis in Vijayanagar 4th Stage

Sir,

In what appears to be a never-ending ordeal for residents of Vijayanagar 4th Stage 2nd Phase in Mysuru, a severe water supply crisis has been plaguing the locality for over a year now.

Multiple issues, including damaged supply pipes, subpar water quality and persistent complaints without resolutions, have left the residents frustrated and concerned. Prices of the plots have sky-rocketed to Rs. 6,000 per sqft and beyond but facilities have hit the rock bottom.

One of the primary issues exacerbating the water crisis is the prolonged neglect of damaged supply pipes. Residents have reported that multiple pipes have been damaged leading to wastage of precious drinking water and despite numerous complaints, they remain unfixed. This has resulted in significant water wastage and an unreliable water supply, leaving the community in a perpetual state of uncertainty.

To compensate for the disrupted supply, supplementary water is provided through water tanks. However, residents have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the quality of water supplied through these tanks. Many claim that the water is often discoloured and carries a pungent odour, making it unsuitable for consumption.

Other major problems with Muda supplied water tanks are constant argument and altercation with water tank suppliers which is affecting the quality of life of the residents.

Residents have made repeated complaints to the authorities regarding these pressing issues, but there seems to be no concrete progress in resolving them. Despite numerous phone calls and written complaints, the water supply woes persist without respite. The lack of timely action by the concerned agencies has left residents feeling unheard and abandoned.
