Mysuru: The Silver Jubilee celebrations of Sri Krishnadhama on Sahukar Channaiah Road, Saraswathipuram in city will be held from May 25 to June 1.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Monday, Sri Krishna Trust Vice-President P. Jayaram Bhat said that Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji will inaugurate the event at 6 pm on May 25.
Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji and University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will be the guests of honour. Marking the celebrations, several religious, spiritual, cultural programmes and lectures will be held from morning till evening on all the days, he said.
Programmes on May 26 will begin with a seminar on ‘Dharmakarmagala Marma’ at 9.30 am. Vidwan H.V. Nagaraj Rao will be felicitated at 5.30 pm.
On May 28, the programme will begin with a seminar on women issues at 9.30 am. Vasanthotsava will be held on May 29. On May 31, veteran litterateur and Saraswati Samman awardee Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa will be conferred ‘Krishnanugraha’ award at 5.30 pm. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and a citation.
The valedictory of the celebrations will take place at 6 pm on June 1, in which Minister G.T. Devegowda, MP Pratap Simha, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, MLAs S.A. Ramdas and L. Nagendra and others will take part, Jayaram Bhat said and added that a souvenir titled ‘Rajatha Darshana’ will be brought out marking the occasion.
Trust office-bearers H.B. Ramakanth, Vidwan G.N. Bhat, P.V. Nagesh, Ravi Shastri, P.G. Praveen and others were present at the press meet.
