Weekend Music and Dance at Nadabrahma

Mysuru:  Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised weekend Music and Dance programmes on July 27 and 28 at 6 pm at Mysore K.Vasudevacharya Bhavana, JLB Road, Lakshmipuram.

Vidushi M.R. Sudha will render “Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Memorial Concert” on 27th (Saturday) accompanied on the violin by Vidushi Charulatha Ramanujan, on the mridanga by Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma and Vidwan R.Srinidhi on the ghata.

Hailing from a family of musicians, Sudha is the daughter of Vid. M. J. Ramaswami, brother of Ganakalabhushana Vidwan M.J. Srinivasa Iyengar. After having been groomed by her father and Vidwan M.J. Srinivasa Iyengar, she continued her tutelage under Vidushi Gowri Kuppuswami, who is a disciple of GNB.  Having secured 3rd Rank in the Vidwat examination, she is a ‘B High’ graded artiste of AIR. She has performed in many prestigious sabhas in Karnataka and in Karthik Fine Arts and NaradaGana Sabha, Chennai and has performed with many leading artistes.

On 28th (Sunday), Kannika Bhat and Party from New Delhi will present Kamalamma Gopalakrishna Chetty Memorial Bharatanatyam recital at 6 pm. 

A child prodigy, Kannika is 14-years-old and studies in 9th std. Right from the tender age of 5, she is learning Bharatanatyam under Kanaka Sudhakar at New Delhi. Out of her extraordinary interest, she has mastered both classical and semi-classical form of Dance. At such a  young age she has made her presence felt both at National as well International festivals in Delhi, Bareli, Tirupati, Bengaluru, Pune, Thailand,Venezuela and Peru. She has won prizes in national and international competitions. She has also participated in musical Ballets choreographed by stalwarts like Nagarathnamma.
