What is wrong with facing probe if you are not guilty?

CM’s defiance will only further erode his moral standing: Former MLC D. Madegowda

Mysuru: With the High Court ruling against him, former MLC D. Madegowda has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to face a probe if he truly believes he has maintained a clean image throughout his political career.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, Madegowda stated that Siddaramaiah, who claims to be a socialist and a true democrat, should willingly undergo an investigation if he is confident of his innocence in the MUDA alternative site allotment scam.

Asserting that the High Court had dismissed all of Siddaramaiah’s arguments, the former MLC remarked that the CM should have agreed to a probe even before the Governor’s sanction was granted for his prosecution.

“The fact that the CM petitioned the High Court shows he was not confident of his own uninvolvement. Moreover, the Congress Government in Karnataka is already battling multiple scams. The CM’s defiance will only further erode his moral standing,” Madegowda said, criticising the closure of MUDA to the general public after the mega scam was uncovered.

He added that CM should abandon his defiant attitude and face an investigation.
