Chamarajanagar: About 40 passengers, travelling in a KSRTC bus to Mysuru from Chamarajanagar, had a close shave when a rear wheel got detached from the moving bus near Badanakuppe village in the taluk yesterday.
The KSRTC bus (KA-10 F-0140) left for Mysuru from Chamarajanagar at about 1.15 pm and when the bus crossed Badanakuppe village, the driver saw a wheel moving at full speed in front of the bus and immediately stopped the bus.
When he got down and inspected the wheels of the bus he saw one of the left side rear wheels had got separated. Luckily, no loss of life or injuries took place. Meanwhile, the passengers, who got down from the bus inspected the other rear wheel on the left side and noticed that the tyre was nearly 80% damaged.
They then began to curse the KSRTC officials for their negligence in allowing the bus with damaged tyre to ferry passengers and for playing with the lives of passengers. The passengers then took another bus to reach their destinations.
