Sir,
This refers to the news item “Now, Wheel-locking System” for two-wheeler parking violations (Star of Mysore dated Apr.25). Hope this system will deliver the desired result of curbing parking of two-wheelers in “No Parking” zones and also parking haphazardly causing traffic bottle-necks.
The new Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) deserves full appreciation for implementing innovative ideas to curb traffic rule violations and for his attempt to streamline the traffic in Mysuru.
When “Tiger” was entrusted to lift or tow away the vehicles parked in “No Parking” zones, it was causing suspense and tension to the motorists whose vehicles disappeared from the place where they had parked, not knowing whether their vehicles were stolen or towed away.
Before “Tiger” came, Traffic Police were locking the four- wheelers parked in “No Parking” zones. Now along with two-wheelers, four-wheelers should also get the wheel- locked when parked at “No Parking” zones and also at other locations blocking free movement of vehicles.
