Wheelchair Cricket Tournament tomorrow

The Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Association (KWCA) in association with Suraksha Foundation have organised ‘Dasara Cup-2019,’ a wheelchair cricket tournament tomorrow (Sept. 29) at the MUDA Ground in Vijayanagar in city.

Disclosing this at a press conference in Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, KWCA Secretary Vijay said that the tournament will be held from 9 am to 5 pm and added that teams from Mysuru, Bagalkot and Bengaluru will be taking part. He further said each team will face 10 overs and the winners would be presented with a trophy apart from presenting Best Bowler, Best Batsman and Best Fielder awards.

Vibhuthi Mutt Seer Dr. Sri Mahanthalinga Swamiji, Shivagange Mutt Seer Sri Pattada Malayala Shanthamuni Shivacharya Swamiji, will grace the occasion. Sandalwood actors Darshan, Abhishek Ambarish and Doddanna will be the chief guests.

This apart, stalls would be erected to create awareness on the use of cloth bags instead of plastic, organ donation and job opportunities  at the venue. An audio play ‘Gandhiji Kanasu 150ke nanasu’ will be held. On Sept. 30 at 11 am, an awareness rally on plastic ban will be taken out from Government Higher Primary School in Metagalli. 

KWCA Director Pradeep, Vikalachethanara Abhyudaya Sevasamsthe Founder M. Prabhuswamy, Suraksha Foundation President Anand and sportsperson Ramachandra were present at the press meet.
