White Tigers, Zebras to make their way into Mysuru Zoo

Mysuru: A pair of White Tigers and four Zebras will be making their way to Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens which is popularly known as the Mysuru Zoo worldwide. This apart, the Mysuru Zoo will also be receiving a male Lion-tailed Macaque and a pair of Nilgiri Langurs from Chennai.

While the White Tigers, Lion-tailed Macaque and Nilgiri Langurs will be making its way from Chennai under Animal Exchange Programme, four zebras (one male and three female) are all set to arrive from Tel Aviv in Israel as a gift. The Zebras will be transported from Israel to Mumbai in a flight and will arrive at Mysuru Zoo in a truck.

Meanwhile, Mysuru Zoo Executive Director C. Ravishankar, speaking to Star of Mysore over the phone this morning said that the Mysuru Zoo would be giving two pairs of Hyenas and other animals to Chennai Zoo in exchange for the animals they are giving and added that due to extreme climatic conditions, the transportation of the White Tigers is delayed but would make their way into the Zoo soon.
