Those who admire Rangayana productions have to agree with the views of Director Addanda Cariappa. He has been the target of vested interests from the day he assumed office.
Whatever his political leanings be, the production of ‘Parva’ was a landmark in Rangayana.
That Cariappa, being a Kodava, has serious reservations regarding Tipu is justifiable. But that is a different matter.
‘Parva’ is a re-telling of a great epic and that has to be viewed in that perspective only.
And why should Cariappa resign? He is doing a wonderful job and he should continue. I would like to tell these individuals that if you don’t like the plays staged in Rangayana, please don’t go. Rangayana will perform much better then !
One last point. I would like to remind these people that we live in a democratic country; just because Cariappa does not believe in your political leanings does not mean he should quit !
