Bengaluru: Pulled up by BJP President Amit Shah for not trying to corner the Siddharamaiah Government on corruption charges against its Ministers, the Karnataka BJP has announced an offensive against the CM, his family members and his Council of Ministers. And leading the charge is Karnataka BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa.
In a fresh offensive against Siddharamaiah, Yeddyurappa has threatened to ‘expose the corruption and scams of the CM and his family members within next 4-5 days’. “Siddharamaiah is claiming himself to be a saacha (clean). We will expose his true colours before the people,” Yeddyurappa said.
He said that once he exposes Siddharamaiah, the “true colours” of over three to four Ministers will be exposed. Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru yesterday, Yeddyurappa said that the BJP will bring out a charge-sheet against the Siddharamaiah Government and claimed that Siddharamaiah tried his best to influence the official machinery to deny certain documents to BJP. When asked whether he had any documents to support his charges, Yeddyurappa said, “We are gathering the documents. We are facing hurdles in getting some vital papers. We will come out with all the necessary documents in next 4-5 days. We will release our charge-sheet against the CM and his family members.”
Replying to persistent queries on his claims, he added, “I can assure you 101% that we have got documents that would expose the shocking scams of Siddharamaiah. We will release the charge-sheet along with the documents.” He alleged rampant corruption in the administration and that citizens were being forced to “pay a price” for every work in Govt. offices.

Yeddyurappa demanded the immediate resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K.J. George with the CBI taking a fresh look into the mysterious death of Dy.SP M.K. Ganapathy.
Yeddyurappa warned if George would not resign then the BJP will take out a one-day Satyagraha across the State on Sept. 16. The clamour for George’s reaction has come in the aftermath of the failed attempt by the BJP to secure the resignation of Forest Minister and Dakshina Kannada District Minister B. Ramanath Rai, who was alleged by the saffron party of supporting banned minority outfits in murdering the Hindu activists.
Yeddyurappa said, by keeping George in the Cabinet, Siddharamaiah was once again protecting his close confidant from being investigated in the death of Ganapathy.
“Previously too, Siddharamaiah protected George by handing over the case to the CID. The end result was destruction of evidence and subsequent acquittal of George. He was even given the same portfolio, which was held by him, prior to his then resignation. Let there be transparency in the investigation,” Yeddyurappa said.
He said that the party had no issues if George was acquitted even by the CBI and then re-inducted into the Cabinet.
“Besides, the CBI has been given a three-month time frame to investigate the death of Ganapathy. George is welcome to rejoin the Cabinet, if acquitted,” he said.
