Sir,
In some parts of the city, road safety indicators like the one shown in the photo (pic.1) were placed on either side of the road dividing concrete blocks, including on the Bogadi road.
But these concrete blocks are not visible from a distance for vehicle riders coming from the city side due to the slope in the road towards Bogadi side. These safety indicators are placed on the road by city Traffic Police to caution the road-users about the presence of obstructions ahead on the stretch. However, some of these were damaged as vehicles hit the indicators itself (pic.2).
Similarly many plastic flexible road dividers placed at various locations of the city were also damaged by motorists due to their rash driving.
Reducing speed of the vehicles at such places can avoid damaging the vehicles as well as the indicators. As nothing comes free in this world, replacing the damaged one again and again may not be possible due to paucity of funds with the department concerned.
Hence, it is the responsibility of the road-users to drive slowly and safely at such locations and not to damage public property.
