Mysuru,: The Bendre Vedike of Chaitra High School and PU College had organised an Inter-School ‘Bendre Geetha Nudi’ Contest and ‘Arivu’ Quiz Programme in the institution premises recently.
Retd. Principal and HoD of Kannada, Maharaja’s College Prof. C. Sarvamangala inaugurated the function and familiarised the gathering about the unknown facts of Bendre.
She also spoke about the use of language in his poems and drew the attention of audience towards the humble and humane attitude of Bendre.
Chaitra Educational Institution President S. Gururaj presided. Treasurer Pushpalatha Gururaj welcomed the gathering. Chaitra PU College Principal Vani Sivakumar, Chaitra High School Head Mistress Geetha Barki, Judges Rekha Ashok and Ashwini, students and staff from various schools, teaching and non-teaching staff were present during the programme.
More than 150 students from 20 different schools took part in the competition.
Winners
Rolling Shield: Sadvidya High School.
Geetha Nudi Competition: First prize – Sadvidya High School; 2nd prize – Sree Cauvery High School; 3rd prize – VVS B.M. Sri High School.
Quiz Competition: 1st prize – Sadvidya High School; 2nd Prize – Kautilya Vidyalaya; 3rd Prize – JSS Public School.
